5 SIMPLE TIPS TO HELP PREVENT KITCHEN FIRES

1. Watch What You Wear - Loose clothing or clothing with long strings can be a danger when dealing with open flames.

2. Fire extinguisher - Always have a fire extinguisher handy & it is always a good idea to have them in the kitchen and garage but make sure you know how to operate it correctly.

3. Stay present- If you need to leave the room while cooking, turn off the burners or broiler and remove food from heat.

4. Pour grease into a safe container - Never pour hot grease in a garbage can.

5. Clear cooking area - Make sure to look around to see if there are any cords, papers, rags, etc. around that could catch fire.

SERVPRO of Bowling Green/West Lucas County hope these five simple tips will help prevent a kitchen fire.
