Here are a few reminders the help prevent a kitchen fire from SERVPRO of Bowling Green and West Lucas County

1. Watch What You Wear - Loose clothing or clothing with long strings can be a danger when dealing with open flames.

2. Fire extinguisher - Always have a fire extinguisher near by. It is a good idea to have them in the kitchen and garage. But make sure you know how to operate it correctly.

3. Stay present- . If you need to leave the room while cooking, turn off the burners or broiler and remove food from heat.

4. Pour grease into a safe container - Never pour hot grease in a garbage can.

5. Clear cooking area - Make sure to look around to see if there are any cords, papers, rags, etc. around that could catch fire.

SERVPRO of Bowling Green and West Lucas County hope these five simple tips will help prevent a kitchen fire.
